Charge

On 18 October 2017, the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal considered a charge laid by the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) against Ms Brooke Wiggins, (the Dental Hygienist) of Hamilton.

The charge alleged that the Dental Hygienist practised without a current practising certificate between 01 April 2016 and 12 October 2016.

The hearing proceeded on the basis of an agreed summary of facts.

Findings

The Tribunal found the charge established, and the Dental Hygienist guilty of professional misconduct, and that it was serious enough that disciplinary sanction should follow.

Penalty

The Dental Hygienist was censured and fined $500.  The Tribunal ordered the Dental Hygienist to pay a total contribution of $10,000 to the costs of the Tribunal and the PCC.
